Apprenticely Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with a Series of Engaging Events

National Apprenticeship Week

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – Apprenticely, a nonprofit dedicated to growing Arkansas’s workforce through the proven model of registered apprenticeship, is proud to join Arkansas employers and state and local workforce leaders in celebrating the successful growth of apprenticeships in Arkansas during National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) this November 17th-24th.

“A growing number of Arkansas employers in a variety of industry sectors including IT, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy & Environment, Healthcare, and more are experiencing the effectiveness of Registered Apprenticeships,” says Bill Yoder, Apprenticely’s Executive Director. “National Apprenticeship Week is our opportunity to celebrate our state’s leadership in expanding this proven workforce model.”

This year’s theme for National Apprenticeship Week – “10 Years of Engagement, Expansion, and Innovation – is in recognition of the fact that, since NAW’s inception, literally thousands of events have allowed countless individuals to learn about the life-changing impacts that the Registered Apprenticeship model has had and continues to have for so many job seekers and employers.”

The week hosts daily themes to celebrate key audiences and accomplishments.

  • Monday: Youth and Young Adult Apprenticeship Day
  • Tuesday: Registered Apprenticeship in New and Emerging Industries and Around the Globe
  • Wednesday: Expanding Registered Apprenticeship to Underserved Populations
  • Thursday: Women in Apprenticeship
  • Friday: Federal Apprenticeship and Veterans in Apprenticeship

“We’re excited to host these events that bring together apprentices, employers, and industry experts to celebrate success stories and highlight the critical importance of apprenticeships in today’s economy,” says Lonnie Emard, Apprenticely National Apprenticeship Director. “At Apprenticely, we believe that apprenticeships are a key solution to closing the skills gap and offering rewarding career paths to individuals of all backgrounds. Building up to, and during National Apprenticeship Week, we’re recognizing and honoring Arkansas employers who have led the way in growing and training their talent through Registered Apprenticeship during our Apprenticeship Recognition Nights in both Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas.”
