Success From End to End

End-to-End Process

The Director’s Chair

HAPPY SPRING 2025! There’s a lot going on at Apprenticely, and sometimes we get so busy talking about individual aspects of our much-touted “end-to-end” apprenticeship process that we fail to explain the Big Picture. So this column is for those of you who’ve been scratching your heads and asking yourselves, “What the heck do they mean by the ‘end-to-end’ process?”

Think about it as a horizontal line. On the left end are all of the employers. They need skilled talent to maintain and grow their businesses. Every single day, Apprenticely team members are talking to employers we’re currently working with, as well as with potential new employers. We’re finding out what they need, and why.

On the other end of that horizontal line is the pool of talent we draw from. These are people who’re either pursuing their first job in a desired field, or perhaps they’re already in the workforce but are looking to make a career change. Apprenticely has a talent recruitment and development team that receives on average some 500 applications a month.

The idea of Apprenticely’s “end to end process” is to link the employers and the talent in a perfect match. Key to the process is that we don’t wait for employers to request certain skills before we start working with our applicants, and we don’t wait for applicants desiring certain careers before we start working with employers. Both are happening all day every day, and the match of talent with employer starts the day an employer says, “Yes, I want to use the Apprenticeship Program to grow my own talent.” In many instances, we will already have in our database qualified talent that we’ve been preparing—resumés, interview skills, etc.—for the right employer opportunity.

Now, what ties these two ends together? Registered Apprenticeships—that is, a proven model of apprenticeship that’s been validated by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) or a State Apprenticeship Agency—has a “classroom training” component, and that curriculum is provided by a training partner. Apprenticely doesn’t deliver the training, but we provide a Training Coordinator to identify the best partner for each occupation; we also make sure it works for each employer.

An Apprenticeship can be for one year or up to as many as three years. Apprenticely provides Project Managers to shepherd the apprentice, the employer mentor, and the employer through the entire process, with regular check-ins and reporting.

Finally, Apprenticely provides the required data reporting and tracking to satisfy the requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor. We’re an authorized national sponsor for Registered Apprenticeship Programs, and as such, we handle all the interface with the Department of Labor. This is a huge benefit to employers, who are busy enough as is.

So, from left to right: Employers, Training Coordination, Project Management, DOL Reporting, Talent Development—the much-heralded end-to-end process. Give us a call and see how it can help you!
