I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE to read Jim Morgan’s piece announcing the new publication ITARKANSAS, a magazine for younger Arkansans who might be interested in an IT career. The magazine is aimed at high school students, their guidance counselors, and their parents. It will also be distributed to college campuses throughout the state.

ACDS has been, and will continue to be, focused on spending time with Arkansas employers to understand the demand for IT talent and the specific skills required for each employer. However, the vision of ACDS also includes being a catalyst on the talent supply side, and that needs to start as early in the education process as possible. ITARKANSAS is a step in that direction. With the tagline “Your Guide to All Careers Tech,” the magazine emphasizes the many advantages of an IT career and outlines the various pathways to find that career right here in Arkansas.
